Topic- Study of Benin ( South Africa)
We will be looking at where Benin was located in South Africa and how it became an important place at the time. We will be looking at the religious beliefs of the people and how Art was very important.
We will be looking at the leaders of the time and how they came to rule. We will be looking into how Benin became a skillful and wealthy place at the time.
Map Detectives and Local Case Study of Mevagissey
We are learning how to use and interpret maps of Mevagissey. Looking at the key features and being able to use compass points to give directions and to give grid references to locate places on the map. We will be looking at Mevagissey as a landscape and comparing it with other places in the United Kingdom.

Multiplication and Division
Children will learn to comparing statements, related calculations, multiply 2-digits by 1-digit, divide 2-digits by 1-digit, scaling and how many ways.
Children will be learning pounds and pence, converting pounds and pence, adding money, subtracting money and giving change.
Length and Perimeter
Children will be learning to measure length and perimeter, equivalent lengths (m and cm), equivalent lengths (mm and cm), compare lengths, add lengths, subtracting lengths, measure perimeter and calculate perimeter.
Children will be learning unit and non-unit fractions, making the whole, tenths, count in tenths, tenths as decimals, fractions on a number line, fractions of an amount 1, fractions of an amount 2 and fractions of an amount 3.
Multiplication and Division
Children will be learning their 11 and 12 times table, multiply 3 numbers, factor pairs, efficient multiplication, written methods, multiply 2-digits by 1-digit, multiply 3-digits by 1-digit, divide 2-digits by 1-digit, divide 3-digits by 1-digit and correspondence problems.
Children will be learning what is area, counting squares, making shapes and comparing area.
Children will be learning what is a fraction?, equivalent fractions 1, equivalent fractions 2, fractions greater than 1, count in fractions, add 2 or more fractions, subtract 2 fractions, subtract from whole amounts, fractions of a quantity, and calculate quantities.
Children will be learning to recognise tenths and hundredths, tenths as decimals, tenths on a place value grid, tenths on a number line, divide 1 digit by 10, divide 2 digits by 10, hundredths, hundredths as decimals, hundredths on a place value grid and divide 1 or 2 digits by 100.
